Dear Friends,
Today, in the fourth episode of the weekly feature series, we are going to highlight the “Help Status” functionality of the Citizen’s Patrol app from help requester’s perspective.
After Clicking “Help” button:
· A notification from server is received which confirms that the request has been initiated.
· On clicking the notification or the “Help Status” button on “Home” screen, a new Status screen comes up.
· This new screen provides a list of all helpers, to whom the help request has been sent, their “Real-time” distance from help requester and the status of help request. The distance is dynamically updated in case of any location change – both from requester and helper perspective.
· This list is limited to a total of 12 helpers (2 friends and 10 additional helpers).
· If the list is empty or with only few names, then it implies that there are only a few helpers near the requester’s location. It is advised that, you request your family and friends to install the app to increase the probability of receiving help in an actual emergency.
· The friends will receive the help request irrespective of their location. Even if they are in another part of the world.
· The helpers will receive the help request, only if they are in the help requester’s vicinity i.e., with reasonable helping distance.
· If the helper accepts the help request then the status of help request will change to “Accepted” or if he declines then his name will be removed from the list.
· Once helper has accepted, then the list will also show a phone icon, if the helper has agreed to share his phone. The help requester can call this helper by clicking this phone icon.
· If the helper fails to respond within a stipulated time of 5 minutes, his name is deprioritized and the request is sent to next helper in queue and the list is automatically updated.
· This list also provides an option to cancel the help request from any specific helper perspective if the requester chooses.
· On clicking the “Map” button, it provides a map of all helper locations with respect to help requester.
It is recommended that your family and friends are also on this app for the best response for any help request from them or you.
The helpers are reserved for the help request till the help request is completed and will not receive another request till they are released hence it is very important to close the help request when purpose is solved.
